A hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman with a 360 degree panoramic views.

NOTE - Monkey point also known as Man-ki point, falls into the high-security zone belonging to Indian Air Force. Therefore, Electronic products such as Camera, Mobile Phone, pen drives etc. are not permitted inside the territory. Also, please carry your photo ID with you.

At 4 km from Kasauli bus stand, Monkey Point is the highest point in the area (approx. 6500 ft).To reach the Hanuman Temple, a trek of about 500 meters has to be covered, approx half of it in plain & rest by stairs. Legend has it that Lord Hanuman placed his foot atop the hill (the hilltop is foot shaped) of this town while looking for Sanjeevni Booti(a herb)to heal the unconscious Lakshmana.

Until we visited the place, we believed that this place is called Monkey point, as it belongs to Lord Hanuman, the monkey God. But here we were informed that it is not 'Monkey Point' but 'Man-Ki Point'. Literally, this meant 'as per the wish'.

So, visit the Manki point to fulfill your wishes.

The ascend to the temple is very steep indeed. With a lot of monkeys around, be careful and avoid carrying anything in your hands, specially eatables or even bags. As you reach the summit, at an elevation of around 6500 mts, a 360-degree view of the whole valley, including a bird's eye view of Chandigarh & Satluj river are breathtaking.

The Hanuman Temple premises is neat and clean with a nice ambiance and a divine feeling.

NOTE : This is a moderate trek with a reward but small kids, elder people, heart patients etc should avoid it.

TO KNOW MORE ABOUT TARKASURvisit:
There are many sculptures of Lord Shiva inside the shrine. The festival of Navratri is celebrated here with great enthusiasm.

This famous temple is located atop the Dhol Giri Mountain, on the way from Dharampur to Gharkal before famous Sanawar school(Kasauli).  This nicely maintained temple offers some sweeping views of the surroundings. After a testing walk through quite a steep climb of not less than 100 stairs, one feels rewarded once reaches the temple.

Caution: Keep an eye on the monkeys as they might be eyeing your bags!

Devotees from across the country, especially the childless couples, come here to seek the blessings of the Lord. Devotees usually make offerings of sweet Indian bread made with jaggery and wheat flour to the deity, housed inside the cave. Goats too are offered but not to slaughter. Instead, they are fed and taken care of. Women are not allowed inside the cave. They are permitted to view the idol from a special platform outside the cave's entrance.

Baptist Church - Kasauli
ROUTE SUMMARY
Delhi - Murthal - Karnal - Ambala - Zirakpur - Parvanoo - Kasauli

Kasauli Cantonment is a nicely maintained peaceful hill resort...or health resort.

Waiting for you right at the Bus stand is this classic blend of the Gothic and Indian style of architecture, The BAPTIST CHURCH. Wrapped in dense woodland with a decent courtyard all around, this church was built in the year 1923. Though it was damaged by a fire in 2008 and almost all internal furnishings were destroyed, it still retains its original structure. Sundial near the door and a board outside telling the brief history of the church are some of the remains of the past. Glass work in the church is quite good and worth watching.

Photography is permitted only outside the church's building. And the place is good for photography.

PILGRIMAGE in HIMALAYAS

Respect Nature. She Reciprocates!

Mountains are the World’s Water Towers. Water, stocked as Glaciers, flows downwards in form of rivers. Besides satisfying our thirst, it also sustains most of the food production in addition to the maintenance of various green belts that generate the basic requirement of our life, the oxygen.

My birthplace, Delhi is a wonderful place, just a few hundred kilometers away from world's most famous water towers, The Towering Himalayas. And whenever we want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city we head straight into the lush green wilds of the Himalayas to breathe easy in the lap of raw nature. With an almost endless list of destinations, blessed with delightful landscapes and colourful trails for all tastes, capacities & capabilities, Himalaya, we believe is the abode of Gods. However, spending time in such serene surroundings brings its own responsibilities too...

...avoid littering around. Use eco-friendly produce during the journey.
